High-Quality Flanges from Britex Engineering

Britex Engineering is one of the leading companies in manufacturing metals and various components required by many industries. One such large industry is the oil and gas industry, where flanges are the main components as they help to connect pipes and pipes with other components together

Different types of flanges manufactured by Britex Engineering are as follows: M.S, S.S, Forged C.S & Alloy Steel flanges as per ANSI B16.5, ANSI 16.47, B.S – 4504, DIN, IS:6392, API 590, and AWWA. They are also produced as per client customizations and specifications.

What are flanges?

Flanges are steel components used to connect pipes together or pipes to different equipment. They are of several types depending on the specific requirements of the application and other needs.

In the Oil and Gas Industry, commonly used Flanges include Weld Neck Flanges, Slip-on Flanges, Lap Joint Flanges, Blind Flanges, Forged Machined Flanges, Socket Weld Flanges, Stainless Steel Flanges Screwed and Orifice.

What are the types of flanges?

Depending upon the usage and purpose to be solved, flanges are categorized into different types. There are seven main types of flanges, their names are as follows: welding neck flange, long welding neck, slip-on flange, threaded flange, socket weld flange, lap joint flange, and blind flange.
Apart from these classic types of flanges, some special types of flanges are a modified version of the flanges mentioned above. They are also used in combination with the classic flanges for providing better strength. Some of the are as follows: nipoflange, weldoflange, elboflange, latroflange, swivel flange, expanding flange, reducing flange, etc.

What is the process used for manufacturing flanges?

The process of manufacturing flanges is also called flange forging in India. Similar to the process of forging metals, the metal is heated, formed into the desired shape, and cooled. Flange forging is again divided into three methods, free forging, die forging ; where free forging hammer and the hydraulic press is used, and die and tool forging is performed with the help of forging machines.
