Weld Neck Flanges
Britex Engineering is a name leading the industrial market of manufacturing and supplying of Forged Flanges. Their years of experience in the industry has helped them understand the requirements of their customers, thus providing excellent quality forged and machined flanges all over the globe.
Weld neck flanges or High Hub Flanges are used to relocate stress from the pipe and can help increase the strength and durability of the material, ensuring a decrease in high-stress concentration at the bottom of the flange. The long tapered hub provides mechanical strength and resistance. The weld neck flange comprises a round fitting that extends beyond the rim of the circumference. Generally machined from a forging, weld neck flanges are typically butt welded to a pipe. The rim has a series of drilled holes that permit the flange to be affixed to another flange with bolts.
The major characteristics of these types of Flanges are that they have a long conical neck, the end of which is welded to the connecting pipe. The inside diameter of the pipe is equal to that of the flange, providing a conduit of generally constant cross-section and no interruptions or turbulence in the gases/liquids flowing through the pipe. Welding neck flanges provide high load strength along with even stress distribution.
The materials used for the manufacture of these flanges are – Carbon steel, Alloy steel, Stainless steel, Titanium, Nickel alloys, etc.
There are two types of weld neck flanges:
